The city of Nanjing has stressed that it will vigorously promote urban development by implementing the strategy of industrial development and accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system, according to a meeting held on Thursday to promote the construction of a city with strong industries. Han Liming, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, delivered a speech.
According to the "Nanjing Action Plan for Promoting Industrial Strength between 2023 and 2025 released at the meeting, by the end of the 14th Five Year Plan, Nanjing will record a total GDP of over 2 trillion yuan, and the proportion of manufacturing added value to GDP will remain stable at over 30%.
Nanjing will continue to enhance the core competitiveness of the electronic information industry, promote the optimization and adjustment of the automotive industry structure, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the petrochemical industry, and promote the high-end, intelligent, and green development of the steel industry.
At the same time, Nanjing will also enhance the global competitiveness of software and information services, smart grid industries, and seize the domestic commanding heights of new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing equipment, integrated circuits, bio-pharmaceuticals, new materials, and aerospace.
Efforts will be made to seize the new tracks of the six future industries that include the new generation of artificial intelligence, the third generation of semiconductor, gene and cell, Metaverse, future network and advanced communication, energy storage and hydrogen energy.
Chen Zhichang, Mayor of Nanjing, and Long Xiang, Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People"s Congress, attended the meeting.
